Adding a New FTP Account
An FTP account has been setup for you automatically when your account was opened. This document is designed to show you how to add additional FTP accounts for access to your website. We recommend that you give out individual FTP accounts for each person who needs access. The best practice is to give only the necessary permissions. You may add as many FTP accounts as your account allows.
  1. Login to your Control Panel
  2. Select Domains >> (click on a domain).
  3. From the Domain Main Menu >> choose FTP Accounts*
*Note the amount of FTP accounts available.

Here you will see a list of FTP accounts for the domain you are currently viewing. FTP accounts do not work across other domains in your account. A new set of FTP accounts should be created for each domain.

To Add a New FTP account:
  1. Click Add New
  2. Enter a username. (one word - no spaces - alpha-numeric only)
  3. Enter a password and confirm the password.
  4. Choose whether this person should be able to Read and/or Write to the server. (Download / Upload)
  5. Using the Browse Icon, select the appropriate directory you would like them to access.**
  6. Click Save
**They will be able to access anything below that directory (including sub-directories) but not above. If you want to give them complete access, not recommended, you would manually enter the "\" character in the field (without the quotes). Effectively this will give them root access to your website.

Your login information:

Host: "ftp.your_domain.com"
User: The username you just created.
Pass: The password they just created.
Passive Transfers: Enabled
Starting Directory: (leave blank)
