Leaving a copy of the message on the server
When using POP3 email, it is possible to leave
a copy of the email on the server so that it can be downloaded in a
different place. Almost all email clients (e.g. MS Outlook) have this
setting. Some email clients like the version of Outlook on a Pocket PC
do this automatically.
Instructions for MS Outlook:
- Open MS Outlook 2003.
- Click tools.
- Click Email Accounts.
- Select View or Coinage Email Accounts >> Click Next
- Highlight your email account >> Click Change
- Click the More Settings Button.
- Click the Advanced Tab.
- Check the "Leave a copy of the message on the server" option.
- Check the Remove from server after X days >> Set to 1 to 3 days. DO NOT choose NEVER.**
- Click Ok >> Next >> Finish - to save your settings.
